Darkroom Door and Tim Holtz Masculine Birthday Card

I whipped up a super simple masculine birthday card this week.  I had a pile of backgrounds I made at the lake with Sara Emily and grabbed one (I think it was inked with Frayed Burlap and Pumice Stone and Weathered Wood DI) and embossed the new Darkroom Door Cogs stamp with Seth Apter's new Baked Texture embossing powder in Deep Sea.

The clear crystals or simply the size of the powder chunks gives sort of a crackled effect.

I made a torn book page from a scrap strip of inky paper by punching holes and cutting slits down each hole.  I used another scrap and stamped the Darkroom Door Gazette stamp in Watering Can.  I tucked this under a piece of Tim Holtz ephemera.

I doodled a border and added a sentiment sticker.  Simple and serviceable!  I love love this cogs stamp!

Yeah...another wonderful post! Love the vintage look! Wish I had some males around here that would appreciate something like this, but no ... I almost never make male cards.

Another beauty Autumn, I think it's perfect for the men in our lives but I could see a Mother appreciating it so much too especially if given to her by a Son. I love that white pen edging around the paper doll it really gives him movement and how you have matched him up with the background paper to give the illusion that he is actually using it to lean on *How Clever* I adore him and your fabulous card.
Thank you for sharing, Big creative Hugs Tracey xx

Oh, YES! Masculine closely following that knockout feminine journal just goes to show you are capable of EVERYTHING! I do love that background and how your gears crackled over the top of it. The bundle with the boy on it is just SUPERB! You have me itching to get back into the Closet, but oh, dear, I have work to do! :(:(. Sending you big hugs, my friend! Having withdrawal symptoms.

Glorious dimensional layering - the ruching of the papers and the burlap tag make this as much fun for the fingertips as the eyes, I'm sure!
