The oh so fabulous and sweet Niki of Pawsitively Creative is hosting our challenge at Anything But Cute this month. Niki says, "With the lovely warm weather in my neck of the woods, I am seeing so many wonderful birds and bee's, so I would love to see those in your mixed media makes! Pull out those bird stamps, think of feathers and maybe some honeycomb. Or you could even go for a non-traditional interpretation like a family crest that has a bird emblem on it. The sky is the limit but NO BUTTERFLIES please!" What a great theme Niki!
So here's the skinny. Take three book pages (smaller text works best) and cut or tear them about 4 inches wide. Create a fringe with scissors, leaving about half an inch on one end. Next hot glue the unfrayed side into a ring. Then crunch up the shredded portion. Sort of roll the ends in, twisting and tucking sort of like a vine wreath. Spray ink for color variation. Tip: When you hot glue it to your project, glue in a spiral covering the entire base and your nest will keep its shape.
Don't Forget to Pin It! <3
Mimi shared some library cards with me. I inked these and cleaned off some gold paste from my palette knife, then cut the leaves with a Prima die.
